A little space for big ideas

A starting point for every kind of day.

Three copyable note structures for weekly planning, meeting notes, and collecting ideas.

Weekly reset

Copy these prompts into your notebook at the beginning of a week:

  • What deserves my attention this week?
  • What are the three outcomes I want to work toward?
  • Which commitment needs a next action?
  • What can wait until later?

Keep the answers brief enough to review in a minute. Read a gentler weekly planning routine for a worked example.

Meeting notes

Use four labels: purpose, decisions, questions, and next actions. Under next actions, record a person and a date only when the group has actually agreed to them. A transcript is useful for recall; a decision record is useful for doing the work.

Idea garden

Begin with a title, then write the observation that sparked it. Add one possible use and one small experiment. Leave a space for what you learn. An idea does not need a project plan on its first day.

Open the notebook to try a template. These are editorial examples you can adapt freely for your own notes.
